Mayor and City Council Member of Baalbek Visit ISTT

On Saturday, November 24^th of 2018 the Mayor and City Council member of Baalbek, Lebanon visited Isfahan Regional center for technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) and Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT). Having traveled to Isfahan, Iran by the invitation of Isfahan Municipality to further familiarize the representatives of its sister city with Isfahan and its many socio-economic attributes; they were directed for a visit to ISTT as the supportive knowledge based ecosystem established within the city perimeters and its UNESCO category II center (IRIS).

Upon arrival they first entered a meeting with the management team of IRIS, where they were introduced to the concept and benefits of establishing S&T parks and incubators in any given town and the case of ISTT and its many accomplishments throughout its 20 years of establishment. During this meeting possible ways for future cooperation was explored and the groundwork for starting joint endeavors was laid. The representatives of IRIS also expressed readiness for sharing their knowledge and experience on the establishment of science parks and incubators with the Lebanese delegates through organizing a training program and a technology tour to Baalbek, Lebanon.

The two representatives were then taken on a tour of ISTT where they met with the CEOs of two resident companies, Ehyagaran Ghalb San’at Asia and Behyar San’at Sepahan.
